A two-days long Workshop on Windows Server Configuration and Network Management was organized by Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Discipline and Club for Updated Search on Computer (CLUSTER), the computer club of Khulna University from 15 July 2011 to 16 July 2011 at the Software Development Laboratory. A postgraduate student of CSE Discipline and CISCO-certified Mr. Abdullah-Al-Masud conducted the workshop.
There were around 35 participants in the workshop. The participants were divided into six groups and each group was given two server machines and two client machines. Microsoft Windows 2003 server was installed on the server and Windows XP was installed on the client. The participants were guided by the conductor to configure Active Directory, Domain Name Server (DNS), Mail Server and Proxy Server. Some real-life network management issues were also showed in the workshop.
Dr. Md. Anisur Rahman, Associate Professor was present as the chief guest on the opening ceremony, while Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman was present as the chief guest on the closing ceremony. In his speech, Dr. Mahbub thanked the conductor and the participants, and informed that CSE Discipline would organize another workshop on UNIX server configuration and network management by the end of the year 2011.
